Leading a hybrid AI marketing workflow
I introduced a team-led workflow that uses AI to support concepts, drafts and strategy preparation, while specialists retain responsibility for refinement, quality and final delivery.
Marketing and creative operations
Workflow direction, team adoption and quality oversight
In use across daily marketing work
AI-assisted preparation, brand guardrails, specialist review
The business context
Preparing initial concepts and structures created friction in everyday delivery. The opportunity was to help the team move through that stage faster without giving a tool responsibility for the finished work. I approached AI as part of the team’s operating method: clear inputs, usable assistance and specialist judgment at the end.
The decisions I made
Give the tool a proper brief
We provide requirements, brand colors and relevant context so the starting material reflects the assignment. A prompt is part of the brief, not a replacement for knowing what the work must achieve.
Keep specialists in control
The team uses AI-supported concepts and drafts, then reworks the output. Design specialists refine or redesign in tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop where needed; content work is similarly reviewed and adapted.
Improve the workflow rather than claim autonomous delivery
I led adoption and direction while team members created, corrected and finalized the work. The outcome is a faster team workflow, with the contribution attributed to the people using the tools.
How I led delivery
AI assistance is used in daily graphics, content and strategy preparation. The team supplies the context, reviews the output and makes the changes necessary for the final assignment. The hybrid approach reduces initial thinking and preparation friction while preserving specialist contribution. I guide the workflow and standards; the team carries out production and refinement.
The approach at a glance
- Team brief
- AI-assisted concepts or drafts
- Specialist refinement
- Quality review
- Final delivery
AI supports preparation; people review and finish the work.
What changed
Faster workflow and delivery
The team reports faster preparation and delivery through the hybrid approach.
Specialist capability retained
Design and content colleagues continue to rework and finalize assets.
Adoption connected to real work
AI use sits within daily marketing tasks and delivery standards rather than as a separate technology initiative.
The leadership lesson
Useful AI adoption improves how people work. Clear briefs and specialist refinement turn assistance into a practical capability while keeping ownership of the result with the team.
